Optimization of Experimental Parameters for the Determination of Polymer Additives using On-Line SFE--SFC

Abstract
A non-line supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and supercritical fluid chromatographic (SFC) system with a cryofocusing trap is used to analyze quantitatively different additives in polymer matrices. The effects of temperature, matrix configuration, and extraction time are studied. The use of higher temperature shows better extraction efficiency, while matrix configuration experiments demonstrate that better and faster extraction can be obtained as the surface area of the matrix increases.
