Abstract
The authors examine the problem of two-photon excitation of a three-level detector atom by antibunched radiation from a strongly driven two-level source atom. They show that two-photon transitions are possible and that a commonly used effective two-photon coupling model has to be used with caution in quantum optical problems. Keywords
