Resonance Raman observation of the FeIVO stretching vibration in models for the active site of horse radish peroxidase compound II

Abstract

The tetrahydrofuran and 1-methylimidazole adducts of ferryl (Fe^IV O)‘picket fence’ porphyrin, a model for horse radish peroxidase compound II, exhibit Fe^IV O vibrations, located at 829 and 807 cm^–1 as shown by resonance Raman spectroscopy.
