Antibiotic Edeine. V: Isolation and Purification of Edeine A and B

Abstract

A method is described for the preparative isolation from crude antibiotic of edeine A and B, the major constituents of basic polypeptide antibiotic complex produced by Bacillus brevis Vm4. The column ion exchange chromatography on carboxymethylcellulose in sodium chloride gradient was applied. The substances obtained were homogenous in ion exchange, paper and thin layer chromatography.
