Uplands and Birds—an Outline

Abstract

Our upland bird populations have an important scientific interest, and are highly cherished as an integral part of an environment with special aesthetic appeal. In both respects they represent a major wildlife element of outstanding nature conservation value, deserving of our attention as human impact increasingly disturbs, modifies and destroys our upland habitats, their fauna and flora.
