The Mean Square Force on Ions in Liquid Rubidium

Abstract
The scattered neutron spectra from a sample of liquid rubidium have been measured over the range of momentum transfer 4–8 Å−1. The full widths at half amplitude of these spectra are analyzed in terms of the mean square force on an atom. It is shown that the results are substantially in agreement with data on the solid metal and differ from that of a similar Lennard-Jones fluid.
