Abstract
A derivative of the insulin A chain with the composition A(SS)(SSO3Na)2 was reacted with insulin B chain in the thiol form; insulin was formed in a maximal yield of 7.8%. If A(SS)(SSO3Na)2 was 1st converted into A(SS)-(SH)2 and then reacted with B(SH)2 or with B(SSO3H)2, yields of insulin as high as 20.8% were obtained. The reactions are pH-dependent, and the optimal yields of insulin were obtained at pH 11.5.This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
