Abstract
The distribution of charged particles in air showers containing 3 × 106, 3 × 107 and 108 particles at sea level has been measured and compared with theoretical calculations by Nishimura and Kamata. The best value of the age parameter S appears to be 1·4. The significance of this result is briefly discussed. Keywords
