Abstract
The method consists of enzyme hydrolysis, ether extraction, chromatography on florisil and oxidation of the preg-nanetrid with sodium bismuthate to the corresponding 17-ketosteroid, which is determined by the Zimmerman reaction. To compensate for extraneous material present in the chromatographed fraction, a Zimmerman reaction is also run on a non-oxidized sample. Values on 4 normal males and 12 normal females ranged from 0 to 2.4 mg/24 hours. Recoveries averaged 78.5%.Keywords
