π-Cyclo-octenyl-rhodium and -iridium complexes as intermediates in the isomerisations of cyclo-octadienes

Abstract
Cyclo-octa-1,3-, -1,4-, and -1,5-dienes react with (C5Me5MCl2)2 to give C5Me5M(1,5-C8H12)via a π-cyclooctenyl complex, C5Me5M(C8H13)Cl, isomerisation of uncomplexed diene occurring concurrently with the second step.
