SICKLE CELL DISEASE: REPORT OF A CASE WITH CEREBRAL MANIFESTATIONS IN THE ABSENCE OF ANEMIA

Abstract
Sickle cell disease has long been known to involve the brain, even in the absence of anemia. A unique case showing cerebral manifestations of sickle cell disease without anemia was presented. Patients showing evidence of subarachnoid bleeding or neurologic symptoms which might be explained on the basis of a diffuse vascular thrombotic process should be tested for sickle cell disease. R.
