Abstract
A study has been made of nonintersecting chains of N bonds on a diamond lattice by exact enumeration for small N and extrapolation of the results to large N. For the number of configurations, an improved extrapolation method is given, along with data to N=18 on the number of configurations as a function both of N and R, the number of bonds over which overlap is forbidden. Additional Monte Carlo data for large values of N are discussed in relation to the exact enumeration results. Additional properties determined and discussed include mean‐square end‐to‐end distance, ring formation, and order. Keywords
