The Onset and Duration of Diapause in Eggs of Acheta Commodus (Walk.) (Orthoptera)

Abstract

The stage of morphogenesis at which diapause supervenes in eggs of the com� mon field cricket A. commodu8 was critically determined, and found to be the 46�hr stage in terms of the series described by Brookes (1952). The examination revealed a difference in morphology between diapause and non�diapause embryos.
