Abstract
Note: The article on "Diet-Heart: End of an era," by Dr. George Mann, which we published in the issue of September 22, 1977, produced much correspondence (see the issues of January 12 and 19, 1978) and several offers to write detailed rebuttals. We do not encourage rebuttal articles, but considering the importance of the subject, we agreed to allow the Nutrition Committee of the American Heart Association to prepare the following analysis. We think it is a balanced and well-documented statement that merits careful attention — particularly its final admonition that "a reasoned resolution of the controversy is not currently . . .Keywords
