Abstract
Organ transplantation is one of medicine's success stories. Improvements in transplant immunology and surgical techniques have transformed transplantation from an experimental treatment to the therapy of choice for patients with organ failure. Not surprisingly, its success has dramatically increased demand. The number of patients waiting for solid organs has increased 70% during the past decade.1-3Keywords
