A growth factor for C. diphtheriae present in liver

Abstract
Evidence is presented that certain gravis and intermedius strains of Corynebac-terium diphtheriae require a further unidentified growth factor when cultivated in a medium of known composition. The new growth factor is present in whole liver; processes used in its conc. from this source are described. The properties of the factor and their relation to possible structural groupings are discussed.
