STUDIES ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF RADIOACTIVE FLUORIDE IN THE BONES AND TEETH OF EXPERIMENTAL ANIMALS

Abstract
Radioactive fluorine (F-18) was given by intraperit. inj. to 5 rats and by intraven. inj. to 4 cats. The conc. of the blood fluoride fell rapidly with a corresponding rise in the calcified tissue fluoride. The radioactive fluoride conc. of the various skeletal tissues was approx. proportional to their proximity to the circulation blood. In the cats approx. 15% of the total dose was excreted in the urine during the exptl. period.
