Abstract
Blood specimens of the Celebes black ape was examined by starch-gel electrophoresis for hemoglobin, nonheme protein, prealbumin, trans-ferrin, haptoglobin, and non-specific esterase variations. The results are compared with species of the genera Papio and Macaca. Polymorphic variation of blood proteins was frequent in the black ape. The significance of this is discussed. Keywords
