Abstract
The results of immunoelectrophoretic studies with, the use of antisera against factor VIII preparations have been presented. When normal or hemophilic plasmas were analysed with the anti-I-0 serum 7 precipitation lines were obtained. Six of them were identified as albumin, alpha 2 macroglobulin, beta lipoprotein, fibrinogen, IgM and IgG globulins. One unidentified line found in betax globulin region seems to have some relation to factor VIII. This precipitation line was absent when plasma from one patient with anti-AHG inhibitor and normal plasma adsorbed on bentonite were studied. It was very faint in ief patterns of von Willebrand’s disease plasma. The possibility of 2 kinds of antibodies directed against 2 hypothetical sub-units of factor VIII is discussed.
