Abstract
In estimating the digestibility of the organic matter of a single sample of herbage on the basis of the fecal nitrogen it seems to be of great importance to consider the content of protein in the feed. Another main point is to differentiate between first and later cuts. Taking these points into consideration, Lancaster's formula may give estimated digestion coefficients that agree fairly well with those obtained by the orthodox method. This seems especially to be true for the first harvesting in early summer. Copyright © . .
