Abstract
The uncertainty of transaction scheduling and the increased exposure to system failures from operating in highly stressed conditions makes it critical to be able to quickly and accurately compute security limits. The computation of available transmission capacity (ATC), a key parameter in power systems operation, must be based on a comprehensive and accurate dynamic security assessment; failure to do so may lead to severe system disturbances. This paper describes the tools and techniques developed by Powertech for dynamic security assessment (DSA).Keywords
