Energy Levels ofS31

Abstract

An antimony sulfide target has been bombarded by 12-MeV ${\mathrm{He}}^3$ particles from the University of Pennsylvania Tandem Accelerator. The alpha-particle spectra at 15° and 45° have been determined by means of a broad-range spectrograph. Thirty-nine alpha-particle groups have been observed corresponding to states of ${\mathrm{S}}^{31}$ with $E_x<7.8\mathrm{}$ MeV. These results are compared with the known information on the level structure of the mirror nucleus ${\mathrm{P}}^{31}$.
