Abstract
Presentation of Case First admission. A 72-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of ulcerations of the leg.Twenty-five years previously he underwent an appendectomy, which was complicated by postoperative thrombophlebitis in the left leg. Ten years before admission ulcerations developed on the left leg, accompanied by pain; he recovered after local treatment. He was then well until 12 weeks before entry, when trauma to the left leg was followed by recurrent ulcerations, which were treated with wet and dry dressings in the surgical clinic. The ulcers enlarged, and he entered the hospital.There was a long history . . .
