Abstract
Male guinea pigs (Hartley) were castrated at 510 (450–580) gm body weight and 30 days later were implanted subcutaneously with pellets of 12 different androgens. After 21 days of treatment the temporal muscles showed an increase in aspartic-glutamic and alanine-glutamic transaminase activities in proportion to the increase in the weight of the muscles. The kidney, heart and liver showed no changes in weight or activity of the enzymes as a result of treatment with the androgens. Keywords
