A modified treatment of low energy elastic stopping power in dense structureless media

Abstract
A new model is proposed for the calculation of the elastic stopping power of energetic particles in a structureless medium. It is based on the fact that in such a medium the projectile cannot be treated as different in the statistics of spatial distribution from the scattering atoms. It turns out that the stopping power is higher than if calculated with N. Bohr's usual method and the straggling is lower.
