Prevalence of cytomegalovirus and Herpes simplex virus in human semen

Abstract
Cytomegalovirus was isolated from semen in 4 of 170 males seeking evaluation at the Reproductive Medicine Clinic at Prince Henry's Hospital, and from 1 of 40 healthy university students. All initial isolates were from specimens with abnormal semen analysis (P < 0.01). Herpes simplex virus was not isolated from any sample.
