Glossolalia and Internal-External Locus of Control

Abstract
A group of glossolalics was compared with a group of nonglossolalics on Rotter's Internal-External Locus of Control Scale. The sample of glossolalics was drawn from Foursquare Gospel and Assembly of God churches, the nonglossolalics were Methodists. There were 95 glossolalics and 79 nonglossolalics. A two-way analysis of variance (sex by glossolalic status] was applied to the data to determine if there was a difference between the groups. Nonglossolalics were found to be significantly more external than glossolalics.
