We report the first direct observation of the push effect of the sixth ligand on the heterolytic O–O bond cleavage step of acylperoxo-iron(III) porphyrin complexes to the corresponding oxo-ferryl porphyrin π-cation radicals by utilizing a series of imidazole derivatives. Keywords
