Studies on Lymphogranuloma Venereum Complement-Fixing Antigens

Abstract
Summary: The titer of lymphogranuloma venereum complement-fixing yolk sac antigens could be enhanced from 1–200 to 1–3200 by treatment with phenol under certain conditions of autolysis, temperature and time. The titer could be similarly enhanced by boiling or autoclaving with or without phenol. The properties of the antigen and the mechanism of enhancement are discussed.
