Abstract
THE presence of a factor promoting the rehealing of wounds has been postulated for many years. The excellent healing of the resutured dehiscence has often been noted clinically.1 However, evidence of the nature of the factor or factors responsible for this effect has been lacking.A systemic healing-promoting factor was proposed by Sandblom2 as being responsible for the increased rate of healing that he found in wounds made after a given time at a distance from a primary wound. The greatest effect seemed to be present during the second week after wounding. This concept has been disputed by Taffel, Donovan . . .Keywords
