Abstract
Two mutant strains of Neurosphora requir-ing one of several alpha-amino acids for, growth, a number of other mutant strains, and the wild-type were examined for L-glutamic acid dehydrogenase activity. Glutamic dehydrogenase appears to be absent from mutant strains which have a general requirement for alpha-amino groups. Extracts of amlnation-deficient strains did not inhibit the enzyme when added to wild-type extractions.
