The lactic dehydrogenase is present in high concentration in normal human semen but is not confined to the cellular portion. It is present in the seminal fluid of azoospermic individuals and in the supernatant fluid of centrifuged semen. The enzyme is concentrated in the 1st portion of the ejaculate and probably is derived in considerable part from the prostatic secretions.
