Abstract
Separation of simple saturated hydroxamic acids with a chain length of 1-9 C atoms was achieved by partition chromatography on paper. The relative merits of a number of solvents are discussed It was shown that efficient humidification of the system is important when using a solvent such as benzene, which dissolves very little water. Interference caused by metals in the filter paper can be overcome by preliminary treatment. Keywords
