Interpretation of Some Neutron States forA=140150

Abstract
Nuclear states at 122 and 198 keV are populated in the decay of Pm147 to Sm147. The 742-keV state of Nd143 is reassigned to be 32. Neutron states of 32 and 52 character are traced through the region A=140150. The 32 state (the ground state in Ce143) is interpreted, for N=85 and 87, as a quasiparticle (qp)-plus-phonon state, predicted by Kisslinger and Sorensen. The 52 state (ground state in Nd147) is interpreted as either their qp-plus-phonon state or as a three-qp intruder state. A diagnostic rule for the identification of three-qp states—that their magnetic moments appear in the "wrong" Schmidt group—is discussed and applied to ten cases.
