The Route of Antibiotic Administration in Superficial Impetigo

Abstract
A GREAT variety of therapeutic measures are advocated for the treatment of impetigo in different clinics in this country. They range from mechanical removal of the crusts and cleansing of the lesions with soap to systemic administration of antibiotics. A previous report‡ stressed the need for antibiotic medication in the treatment of impetigo and deeper pyodermas. The study reported below was made in the outpatient departments of the Massachusetts General Hospital, the Children's Hospital Medical Center and the Boston City Hospital between November, 1961, and June, 1962.
