Square-Well Potential. II. Some Comments on Critical Point Behavior and Scaling Laws

Abstract
Critical exponents are determined for a square‐well fluid with σ21 = 1.85 by solving the Yvon‐Born‐Green equation in the neighborhood of the critical point, with the superposition approximation used to effect the necessary closure. The results of several numerical studies are reported which serve to establish the reliability of the following values: β = 0.429 ± 0.01, δ = 3.04 ± 0.08 , and γ = 0.793 ± 0.002 . These results are analyzed in the light of recent experimental and theoretical work on classical fluids.
