Synthesis of deuteriomethyl aromatic hydrocarbons by exchange with dimethylsulfoxide‐d6

Abstract
Deuterium exchange between dimethylsulfoxide‐D6 (DMSO‐D6) and methyl substituted aromatic hydrocarbons such as toluene, the xylenes, mesitylene, methylnaphthalenes and methylphenanthrenes is a convenient general method of preparing the CD3 analogues.
