Chemical Reactions of Omeprazole and Omeprazole Analogues. III. Protolytic Behaviour of Compounds in the Omeprazole System.

Abstract

PKa values have been measured for a variety of omeprazole analogues. Owing to the poor stability of the compounds, a rapid potentiometric method was developed for the determination of pKa values. The experimental results were used in various correlations to enable the rapid and accurate estimation of pKa values for analogues and intermediates in the chemical transformations of omeprazole.
