Polynucleotides, 8. Base stacking in polyuridylic acid.

Abstract
Various optical studies of poly U in the single-stranded form show that stacking of the bases is present. This leads to a helical conformation which is time-variable and hence does not produce a hydrodynamic rigidity. The concept of a dynamic structure is also applied to RNA.
