Abstract
Summary The external morphology and the skull of the Australian Dotterei. Peltohyas australis, was compared with the Charadriinae and the Glareolidae. The external morphology did not provide any conclusive taxonomic evidence, but the skull morphology of Peltohyas agreed very closely with that of the plovers. It is recommended that Peltohyas be placed in the Charadriinae close to Charadrius and Eudromias. Keywords
