Abstract
Recent research suggests that the blood clotting cascade and events during formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) are not disconnected processes. In a Perspective, Carmeliet discusses new findings in mouse embryos lacking the thrombin receptor PAR1 that support an intimate connection between blood clotting and angiogenesis ( Griffin et al.).Keywords
