EFFECT OF FRUIT STAGE AND MATURITY ON THE GLUCO–ALKALOID CONTENT INSOLANUM KHASIANUM

Abstract
The effect of stage and time of fruit harvest on gluco–alkaloid content has been studied in the berries of Solarium khasianum Clarke. The stages of harvest have not been found to be significantly different from each other but plant maturity leads to an average increase in g–alkaloid content. A strong interaction between the stage of the berries at the time of harvest and plant maturity is indicated.
