ACTION CURRENTS OF SINGLE NERVE FIBERS AS MODIFIED BY TEMPERATURE CHANGES

Abstract
A single motor nerve fiber of the toad was mounted on a "bridge-insulator" and the temp, of theprepn. was controlled in the range between 5 and 20 C. The action current of the fiber was recorded with a cathode-ray oscillograph. In this range, the temp, coeff. of the spike-duration was 3.5, that of the conduction-time 1.8, that of the time-constant in the strength-latency relation about 2 and that of the spike-height was shown to be only 1.3.
