The occurrence of retroprosthetic membrane following successful keratoprosthesis surgery is both a serious and significant postoperative complication. The use of the Nd:YAC laser in the discission of retroprosthetic membrane was investigated in a series of laboratory experiments. The specific techniques for photodisrup-tion utilizing the Lasag Microruptor II with an in situ Cardona keratoprosthesis are described. Based on the results of our studies, the use of the Nd:YAG laser in the discission of retroprosthetic membrane is proposed as a new clinical application.
