Abstract
A new simple model for the evolution of the profile of a growing interface is presented. The model corresponds to diffusion-limited aggregation without branching; computer-simulation results indicate that it has nontrivial scaling features. A theoretical estimate of the exponent which can be systematically improved is presented. This treatment also yields an implicit proof of scaling. Keywords
