Abstract
The natural convection around a sphere embedded in a porous medium is investigated at small Rayleigh numbers. The sphere is suddenly heated and, subsequently, maintains a constant heat flux over the surface. Asymptotic solutions in terms of the Rayleigh number are obtained for the transient and steady-state temperature distribution and flow pattern around the sphere. Keywords
