The indications for surgical attack on the seminal vesicles still remain uncertain. In the past few years, however, much has been accomplished toward a more thorough understanding, and it appears that more or less definite results following operative interference will permit of establishing strict indications and contraindications. Fuller is given credit for insisting on the drainage and perfecting a direct method of procedure for drainage of the vesicles. At the same time he has established his views as to the character of cases in which operation should be performed. Belfield, who has done more than any one else to point out the conditions arising from diseases of the vesicles, must be'equally recognized as a pioneer in this field.
