Abstract
Double imbedding method of celloidin was used to section the minute eggs (0.15 X 0.10 mm.). While the formation of germ layers is the important part of the thesis, the origin of the special organ of Acarina, viz., the dorsal excretory organ, has been proved to be ectodermal and as a homologue of an early proctodaeum that fails to establish a connection with the mid-gut, which takes the form of paired caeca in C. eruditus. The development of every other system in the animal has been worked out, including observations from the point of hatching to the adult condition.
