Abstract
Synthetic polynucleotides containing 4, 3, or 2 bases have been round to direct amino acids into protein with high efficiency and specificity. Many additional RNA codewords which do not contain uridylic acid have been found. Almost all amino acids could be coded by polynucleotides containing only 2 bases. These results have been discussed in terms of the general nature of the code. Keywords
