Abstract
Heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) system simulation and optimisation studies require large component product databases; the quantity of data required to model any one component should therefore be kept to a minimum. This paper describes a steady-state model for ducted fans that compacts the quantity of data required to model a range of fans. The model also allows any initial form of data and incomplete characteristics to be modelled. Submodels for performance, energy, constraints and cost are described. An example model and simulation are given. The model is flexible and accurate enough to be used in general simulation and optimisation studies. Keywords
